Deadly Israeli Strike Leaves Thousands Fleeing

Mass Exodus as Conflict Intensifies

RAFAH, Gaza Strip - More than 900,000 people have fled the city of Rafah and areas of northern Gaza after a deadly Israeli strike on Sunday ignited a fire that killed at least 10 people and destroyed hundreds of homes.

The strike, which targeted an encampment of makeshift shelters just north of Rafah city, was part of Israel's ongoing offensive against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

Rafah, a city of over 150,000 people, has been one of the hardest-hit areas in the conflict. The city has been under Israeli siege for years, and its residents have been subjected to frequent airstrikes and ground incursions.

The latest attack has left Rafah in ruins. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said that over 600 homes were destroyed in the fire, and that thousands of people have been left homeless.

The Israeli military has defended the strike, saying that it targeted a Hamas weapons depot. However, witnesses said that the depot was located in a densely populated area, and that civilians were among the dead.

The exodus from Rafah is the largest displacement of Palestinians since the 1967 Six-Day War. The refugees are fleeing to other parts of the Gaza Strip, to the West Bank, and to Egypt.

The conflict in Gaza has intensified in recent days, with both sides launching rockets and airstrikes. The United Nations has called for an immediate ceasefire, but so far there has been no response from either side.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating rapidly. The United Nations has warned that the Strip is on the brink of a humanitarian crisis, with food, water, and medical supplies running low.

The conflict in Gaza is a tragedy. It is a war that has killed hundreds of innocent people and displaced thousands more. It is a war that has no end in sight.
